My daughter found out last night that she was invited to interview. Anyone else apply to this program? Any incite to the interviewing process?

Stacking Merit Scholarships?
I'm a National Merit Semifinalist (pending finalist status) and applied to USC as my first-choice college. If I receive the half-tuition from the NMF Presidential scholarship, can I still receive other minor USC scholarships besides the big four (Stamps, Mork, Trustee, Presidential)?
I just got an email today saying that I wasn't selected to advance in the selection of the big four, but I was still hoping that there's a possibility I would get more money from USC than just the NMF Presidential.

McCarthy Residential Honors College
So I was looking at the housing brochure, and one of the housing options is McCarthy Honors Residential College, which it says is only available to "Mork Family, Stamps, Trustee, and Presidential scholars". I got admitted in this early round, and I'm a NMSF, meaning I will get the presidential scholarship at some point. Does that mean I have to wait until I hear if I'm NMF in order to apply for this building? Do I have to wait until May 1st when the NM program notifies USC I put them as my top choice school? Can I even apply if my letter didn't mention the presidential scholarship nor invited me into the honors program?

Freshman Seminars?
Are Freshman Seminars open to students from all schools (for example Annenberg), or just students from Dornsife? Thanks :)

Considering not interviewing for regular Presidential as NMF. Crazy?
This thread has the nicest and most knowledgeable group of people! Thanks so much for the replies with thoughts on getting in with Presidential interview offer for NMSF (presumed NMF) students.
I understand that 1/2 tuition is guaranteed now with admission yesterday (thank you USC!) and that the reasons to interview for the Presidential is not that the scholarships can stack but to gain familiarity with the school and that on occasion a Presidential *might* get bumped up to a Trustee. I can see the dates for the upcoming interviews and the 2-day visit required to interview in So Cal.
I totally understand why it would be advantageous to spend more time on the campus, but ack, are we insane for thinking D might not do it? Our thought being that it is likely she'll end up with the same result regardless -- 1/2 off tuition -- and that it turns out the dates and logistics may be difficult. Even though the 3 dates to choose in are in March, unbelievably Ds AP Lit final is the Saturday after the first option (always on a SAT so there's time to do a mock AP exam) and the following week is full of 2nd semester midterms. She would have to go alone as neither parent can go due to work and younger siblings and for her missing 2 days of school is raising the anxiety factor like crazy, We are in Nor Cal and the cost is also a small factor (but nothing compared to just figuring out how to make it work) -- have her fly down super early of day 1, etc.
OTOH, even with the 1/2 tuition USC Is going to be a real stretch and we are hoping for some need-based aid on top of it (our EFC is far lower than the remainder), so it could be that we aren't looking big picture enough if there's a chance for a higher scholarship. D feels like there are plenty of great Trustee interviewees that likely have better stats and greater accomplishments than her though and that hoping for a bump up is just not realistic and time might be better spent finishing out HS and just hoping for a need-based offer.
Last question, if she does not attend Explore USC days, do you think she can attend Preview USC (I'm sure she can attend Admitted Student Days.) Preview USC does not show up as an option via the portal, but since it is a half day vs. 2 days it seems like it might be a lot easier to schedule.
Thanks for any thoughts for anyone who has been there. Again, thanks so much for all the thoughtful and knowledgeable responses -- if this is any indication of the Trojan population I'm so hopeful this is where D ends up!

USC Transfer - Sophomore
Hello.
I am currently attending a California Community College who hopes to transfer in as a sophomore. I am a Communications major who has filled up most of the GEs and will have a total of 35 credits by the end of the spring semester. I am in the honors program with a 4.0 - President's List. I also have several volunteer and internship experiences. However, I have not finished the last prerequisite for English. Will this affect my chances? How high or low are my chances?
Also, is it my understanding that I do not have to submit my SAT score if I have 30+ credits by the end of spring?

Full Tuition Scholarships
Hey! I got accepted to USC and invited to interview for the full tuition scholarships on Feb 23-24th or Feb 27-28th. If I go, I"m definitely going on the 27-28th because I have another interview on the 23-24th. I'm still confused about the logistics of the trips and etc...I'm guessing many others are as well, so I was wondering if you guys wanted to create a groupme for the full tuition scholarship invitees to discuss dates, travel logistics, and reservation details since our dates are different from the presidential scholarship invitees.
Thanks in advance,

2017-2018 University of Southern California Resident Honors Program Applicants
Hey there. I don't know if anyone has made a discussion on this yet. Anyone else out there that applied for USC's Resident Honors Program for the 2017-2018 school year? Any stats? Also, I'd love to know if/when anyone is getting the January admissions and scholarship interview invites. Anyone out there?
Feel free to comment if you are a normal freshman and got an admission letter/scholarship invite.
Thanks!

Viterbi PDP (BS/MS) 144 Crediit Threshold for Scholarships and AP Credit
Lets say you can come up with a PDP plan to graduate in 4 years getting both a BS and MS in this time.
But by the beginning Spring your Senior year you find yourself with 144 credits or more.
You have a Scholarship which you thought could cover you for the 4 years.
Due to the 144 credit limit are you deemed a graduate student and lose your scholarship in your last semester?
The reason you find yourself in this predicament is that you got lots of AP Credit when you came in, and some of this credit really was not used for anything at all. Some of it was used to waive classes, but less than half of it. Lots of useless AP Credit.
Also because you did not foresee this and took some classes like pottery, and ballroom dancing along the way :-)
I did find the following blurb :
"If a transfer student's course work is not accepted for credit toward the degree, he or she may appeal to request that those units not count toward the 144 units."
But it applies to transfer students, I wonder if it also applies to useless AP Credit.
@ViterbiTrojan and @psydent, I saw you guys discussing this in some old threads but with no resolution, would you have any insight?
Thanks for anyone's answers.
Regards

Trustee and National Merit Finalist
This has probably already been answered somewhere else, and I apologize if it has. Considering the hypothetical scenario that I get the Trustee scholarship and am also a National Merit Finalist, will I get any money from National Merit at USC? I know that it qualifies you for the half-tuition, but if I'm Trustee then that would be rendered irrelevant. I appreciate any help or clarification!
