I am a currently attending a California community college and I hope to transfer my sophomore year into USC's Marshall School of Business. My overall college GPA is a 4.0, I have taken all the recommended classes, and I will have 33 units by the end of this semester. My mom is an alumni from USC, will this help my chances?

Trojan Transfer Plan for the Class of 2020
Many of the same questions are coming up for those who were offered the Trojan Transfer Plan this year. @CADREAMIN offered a good summary in this post:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/discussion/comment/19362717/#Comment_19362717
Also note that cohorts of potential Trojans used year one to study in Paris, Rome, and Switzerland in a program related to the TTP, which seems to be an incredible experience, and a chance to attend school in Europe with your future USC classmates.
Here are the details for the different TTP study abroad options:
Paris

Switzerland

Rome

If you go the study abroad route, be sure to like the related parent's Facebook page for questions and support:
(On Facebook, look for https: (Facebook)/groups/617943298283760/
You have great options to remain local, save money, and still participate in USC events, or study abroad with other future Trojans, so congratulations!

Presidential bumped up to trustee?
2 questions:
1. I keep hearing that some presidential scholarship candidates get bumped up to Trustee status. Does anyone have a ballpark number on how many that is? Everyone keeps saying it's a possibility, but I can't imagine more than a handful of students getting bumped up.
2. As you might have guessed, I received a Presidential interview offer (pending NMF too). Are there any smaller engineering scholarships that I can apply for that would stack with the 1/2 tuition?

USC Trustee Finalist thread Class of 2021
Hey guys! Thought a thread needed to be made for Trustee Finalists this year. Please let us know what major you've been accepted as and what weekend you plan on attending.

Explore USC deadline
If we are selected to interview for a scholarship, when do we have to register by? I'm presidential, so my options are in early march but I want to make sure I dont have anything else to do those days which I would not find out until later.

My USC BFA Acting Audition Experience
Hello everyone! I wanted to share this for any future applicants, because I know I searched for these before I auditioned.
I auditioned in Chicago at a hotel this week.
There was no check in, so I just sat down in a big room with everyone waiting. They gave a presentation, mostly comparing the BFA and BA programs, and the benefits of each. I was actually quite surprised that the BA is such a good option. There is a new dean who made some changes to the BFA program. In the BFA, you can't minor, double major, or study abroad, and you are required to be in your class shows. BFA students have "blinders" that focus on acting and only acting. You don't get any choice of classes to sign up for, and you are with the same 18-20 people for your entire time at USC. In the BA, there are BA-only shows, you can minor and double major, study abroad, and it is easier to have outside work. The faculty teaches both BA and BFA students.
Next we were divided into groups A, B, and C. The three groups rotated between prep time, the audition, and the interview (except for group B, who did the audition and interview first and then got dismissed early since they did not need prep time). My group had prep time first, and they said we could even leave or go to the Starbucks in the lobby.
I had my interview next. It was with the assistant dean of the School of Dramatic Arts. I'd say we talked for around 10 minutes. She asked me standard questions, such as my leadership skills, what I desired out of a college experience, why USC, and whether the BA or BFA program sounded right for me. She gave me her card and sent me an email (which she did for everyone).
My audition was with two auditors. I went last, and I did both monologues. They were both very friendly and smiled the entire time, and even gave me some chocolate at the end :)
Overall, I had a very positive experience. I auditioned for UCLA as well, and the auditions had different vibes, but I preferred USC's in general.
If you have any questions let me know!

Chances of getting into USC Marshall
Hi,
I am an IB student, and I have a score which is around a 38 on 42. What are my chances of getting into USC Marshall? Also, what are the ACT requirements for the university?
Is USC a difficult school to get into?
Thank you!

USC Housing Application??? (Fall 2017)
I recently was admitted as a scholarship finalist, and I was looking to go ahead and put my housing deposit in. Simply, when do housing applications open, or have they already opened? Am I supposed to wait for an email? Thanks!

What are my chances?
I applied to Marshall with a 3.65 unweighted gpa, 4.27 weighted gpa, and 33 act.

USC Transfer
Here is my whole story, bear with me please.
I applied last year to USC as a first year but with a terrible high school record, 3.1 I believe and 1800 SAT. My essay was about how I turned my grades around from the first 2 years to the last 2; obviously didn't work. I only got accepted to csula but I wanted a second chance at USC so I decided on CCC instead.
For fall I attended 2 different CCCs because of crowded classes. I took Freshman composition, Calc 1, Human Geog, International relations, philosophy, and Art History then world history for winter, so total of 23 units done after winter is over. With all that done, I only need a life science, physical science and the WRIT150 equivalent and I'll be done with all of the USC core GEs on the TPG. For spring initially, I am attending 2 CCCs again, I registered for WRIT150 equivalent, Arabic 1, guitar reading at one school and calc 2 and physics for scientists and engineers 1 at another. The school with the calc and physics has already started their spring term but physics is crazy hard and I am already lost. It's only been 2 weeks and I hate it because I don't understand a thing. I had no other exposure to physics in college or high school and jumping straight into engineering physics might've been a mistake. I am waitlisted for Bio however at the other school that hasn't started yet and I want to drop physics and take bio instead. But I am afraid if I do that, it would really hurt my admission since I am applying for engineering at USC.
I already sent in my application last week too so I don't even know how I would go about letting them know of the change, I even sent transcripts already.
My major was aerospace engineering and my second choice was undeclared. How am I looking for both of those. For fall, I took 20 units, and I ended up with a 3.5 GPA. A in English, B in calc and then 2 As and 2 Bs in the rest of the GEs. The transfer center said my essay was really good, I made it on the presidents list but I am still really scared for admission since if I do drop physics, there's basically no sciences.
However, if I do make the switch and do bio, that will mean I will have completed all of the USC GE requirements EXCEPT physical sciences, aka physics.
If USC doesn't work out, I want cal poly Pomona as a backup, so how would doing physics later look to them. I believe they want 3 levels of physics, so if I drop this one I will be a semester late.
This is all stressing me the hell out because it's making me feel like I am just going to end up nowhere or that I should've just stayed at csula and let my dreams just be that; dreams. So I would like your expertise on my issue because as of now, I have absolutely no idea what to do. My parents didn't attend college in the US so they don't know either and there's really no one else to turn to.
Thank you!

Leave Of Absence
I am currently a USC international student and some unfortunate things have happened. I have financial troubles and have decided to file a Leave of Absence with USC. I did that a day ago and I did pay only one of the 5 payments towards my tuition for the second semester. I got an email saying that I have to pay off the rest of the money even though I will not be in the country and I will not attend classes for the rest of the semester. What can I do and who to ask to help me with this matter?

Have Two Questions
So I am looking into USC, but I'm starting to have some concerns about it.
1: Will it look at all my courses or just my G.P.A.? Reason being is that I am in a district that has a 5.0 scale and only core classes have 5.0 weighted. All electives are based on a 4.0, so just taking say P.E., Health, and a few other graduation requirements lowers my GPA as is no matter what grade I get
2: By the AP Credit transfer, what does it mean? Does it mean that I can count those waiver courses towards the waiver and still have the extra 32 elective credits i can put in other course? I got very confused on that
Thanks ahead of time.

Thematic Option (Dornsife) for a physics major?
My son received a flyer for the Thematic Option program. I'm not sure I understand what this is an "option" to. Is it an option to the general ed requirements? Or, would this increase the number of general ed courses required?
He is accepted to Dornsife as a physics major, so he doesn't have a lot of room in his schedule to add additional classes. But if the TO fulfills the general ed requirements in smaller, more interesting classes, he'd be interested, particularly in "Process of Change in Science" and "Change and the Future." He's a pretty good writer for a physics/CS major type, so it could be a good fit.
Any thoughts on whether Thematic Option is a good fit for a physics major?
(The Freshman Science Honors program does not look to be a good fit, since he has not much interest in biology.)

Haven't heard back yet!
Hi! I'm a prospective music major and I applied by the Dec. 1 deadline for scholarship consideration. I auditioned at Thornton on January 22nd, so I wouldn't expect to hear back super early, but everyone else in my school has already heard back from USC! Whether they became a finalist or not, they have all been contacted, but I haven't... should I be freaking out?

Does USC accept both AP Lit and AP Lang credit?
I got a 5 for AP Lang, but I'm deciding if I need to sign up for the AP Lit test. It's a bit ambiguous on the site--it says that USC doesn't take credit from classes of the same subject matter. Do Lit and Comp count as the same subject matter? Thanks!
