I applied to the BFA Acting major and my audition is in February, but scholarship decisions are sent in January. Since my admission is heavily based on the audition, am I not able to be considered for a merit scholarship since I can't be admitted before they see my audition? Or do they evaluate those applicants differently? Any information would be greatly appreciated!!

Has anyone ever transferred into USC from Community College with one C?
I'm a California Community College student hoping to transfer USC. Unfortunately, I was a pretty good candidate until I received a single C in Macroeconomics. By the time I apply to USC, I will have a 3.71 GPA (because of the C). The C was in Macroeconomics, and I was planning on applying to the Business School. I got an A in Microeconomics. I'm incredibly bummed out right now. My question is: has anyone ever been accepted with a C? Additionally, as much as I feel like a total loser throwing this out there, do they forgive a poor grade for circumstantial situations? During that semester, I had taken up a full-time job in order to pay for half of rent and food for my little brother and sister. Literally out of the blue and in a process that took about one week, our father left our family for another woman and my mom was just hysterical. I tried taking care of her but she stopped being responsive. She just cried all the time telling my little siblings that she was going to kill herself and that there was no reason to live anymore. After that, I found a full-time job in order to pay some of the rent and food since she would only go to work (she's a nurse) about 1-2 days a week. I had to take up the parental responsibilities for my brother and sister and tried to make them as happy as I possibly could by taking them to the Zoo, Chuck E. Cheese, etc. Additionally, we later found out that my father THOUGHT he was leaving us for another woman but it turns out he developed very serious illusions about this fantasy and is now receiving treatment at a Mental Institution as he still thinks she's "waiting for him at home." (The girl has a restraining order on him). I understand this story is very... out there. I hate explaining it to people because everyone looks at me like I'm automatically considered crazy due to my family, or being dramatic. I wish I was being dramatic, but this sudden situation drastically affected me. I managed to escape that semester with all A's, a B, and then that dreadful C. I'm an A student, with about 3 B's, and that one awful C. I was doing so well for myself until then with a 3.77 GPA at the time of applying and a 3.93 by the time I submitted by final grades for the last semester. Does anyone have any input or experience or knowledge of this topic? I would greatly appreciate it.

Is there a wrong way to answer USC application questions?
Some questions on the USC application ask questions that i know are to describe myself like "what three words best describe you" I was wondering for the theme song question, is there a type of song i shouldnt put? i have always thought my theme song was cradle to the grave by five finger death punch but is that the sort of song i should put on there since it has curse words and all?

Missing scores?
Just got an email from USC saying they need my act/sat scores sent to them and if I have, the ignore the email. So I checked and I've already sent both my act scores but did I need to send my official sat subject score too?
Edit: looked further and say they are requesting my "combined SAT score or ACT score"
So since I sent act thru the act website I should be good right?

Will a low ACT hurt my chances at USC despite a good SAT score?
So my USC application all ready to go, but I have been a little worried about my testing scores. Both my SAT and ACT were sent to USC before I got to see what score I got.
My ACT score is:
Composite - 27
English - 26
Math - 31
Reading - 23
Science - 26
My New SAT score is:
reading/writing - 660
Math - 770
Total: 1430
Will USC care that I got a 27 on the ACT or will they only consider the significantly better 1430?

Help needed for USC!!!
There are sections where I have to fill out my freshman to junior grades. There are section that asks you what social science/history classes I took that year. But I am pretty sure no one took social science/history classes in my grade sophomore year. What classes should I put? Should I leave it empty?

I'm applying to USC for the fall 2017 semester, I am currently a freshman at a out of state CC with a 3.8 GPA. It says they want 2 completed semesters of english, but the english I took first semester was advanced and fulfilled both semesters required at my CC. Will USC recognize this?

Questions about National Merit and the other scholarships at USC?
I applied for the national merit scholarships back in October, and I had a few questions. I think it is likely that I will receive a corporate scholarship due to my father's place of work, but does this mean that I can't get the presidential scholarship that USC offers for national merit finalists? And would I still be in contention for the other USC scholarships (I applied by Dec 1)?

Junior Transfer - How are my chances?
I am currently a sophomore, and my dream is to transfer to University of Sothern California for my junior and senior year of college. Since my sophomore year isnt over yet, I cant give any hard numbers on what my GPA will be, but I am going to just give you a GPA that I would ideally get.
Major: Computer Science
Freshman year:
1st Semester GPA - 1.89
2nd Semester GPA - 3.7
Sophomore year (again, ideally):
1st Semester - 3.7
2nd Semester - 3.7
Extracirriculars: The only club that I am apart of is Ski & Snowboard Club. There aren't many clubs at my school that I am interested, and not many clubs in general. It's a very small state school, and I haven't been very interested in them. I do, however, play on a few intramural teams, and am the captain of one of them.
I completely tanked my first semester of college. I slacked off a lot, and thought I could scrape by easily like High School. Plus I was trying to balance working 30+ hours a week and school. Once I saw my horrendous GPA, I quickly changed my attitude and did quite well, and plan on continuing that trend.
How are my chances looking for USC? Anything you could recommend that would make me a stronger candidate for admission?

December 1 deadline met?
Hello!
I'm really concerned about my USC application. I did submit everything in the common app by the December 1 deadline for financial aid consideration. However, I haven't received any special notification that I'm being considered for financial aid.
What I'm worried about is whether I'm still being considered for financial aid, since I sent my November SAT score (1570) on November 29 (pretty late, I know, but I needed to know my score and whether to send it).
Do you think I might still be eligible? I would greatly appreciate your advice.
I'm also still going to fill out the CSS profile before February 14.
