Letters of Rec for USC?

I am thinking of transferring to USC, and am under the impression that I should have letters of recommendation. Two questions: 1. How does the professor send the letter to USC? In high school, I believe letters were somehow attached to my common app; is it the same process? 2. What would you recommend is the best way to go about actually asking professors for these letters? Do I tell them I am transferring, and to USC?

USC Alum (2015) Presidential Scholar Taking Your Questions!

Hi everyone, I graduated from USC Annenberg a year and a half ago, and during my time at USC I was involved in a multitude of organizations that I'm sure many of you have questions about. A quick highlights reel: I was an Annenberg Scholar/Presidential Scholar and consequently interviewed candidates who were being considered for Trustee/Presidential scholarships, participated in Greek Life, choreographed for Xpressions Dance Company, studied abroad three times (it's possible! Spring semester of Junior year, and summers after Freshmen and Sophomore years--both of which were partially or fully funded), and interned at three different companies/organizations. I currently work in LA at a major film studio and would KILL to be able to relive my college experience. Or, as my friends and I always say, re-live a different USC experience--because there were way too many things that we all still wish we could've tried or participated in while we were still students (but sometimes there is not enough time in the day!). I went to an extremely high achieving high school in the SF Bay Area and distinctly remember lurking on CC every day. Fast forward to six years later, and I would love to share some of my experiences and help anxious students and parents navigate the USC and college admissions process. Happy to answer any and all questions about USC, the college admissions process, the job/internship hunting process, etc. Fire away!

USC School of Cinematic Arts Transfer - Failed Calc II

Hi everyone, This is my first time posting here because there seem to be a lot of knowledgeable people around. I am currently a student at the University of California, Davis and I'm taking Calc II, but I'm fairly sure that I am going to fail this class. However, my major is Cinema and Digital Media, and I intend to transfer to USC SCA. My overall GPA after this failed class should be around 3.8 and I have a good academic record besides this math class (which I didn't realize was unneeded). Any advice on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated!

Kinda Freaking Out

I just submitted my writing supplement to USC, and in my time zone it is 11:10 p.m., dec. 1 which is before the deadline. The common app dates the submission according to eastern standard time, so it is dating my submission as dec. 2. USC's website states that as long as i submit it by 11:59 on dec. 1 in my time zone, I'll be considered for merit scholarships. But how would they know that I did that if Common App dates the submission as dec. 2? From what I can see, there is no time stamp included on my PDF?

Spring 2017 Housing for Transfers

When is the latest transfer students will hear about housing assignments or lack of? It's the beginning of December, school starts next month, and I still have yet to hear if USC has housing for me. I understand that transfer students aren't guaranteed housing, but couldn't they tell me in a timely manner there are no options so I can begin seriously looking into off campus housing? Right now the possibility of on campus housing makes me unwilling to put money toward another option. I just find it weird how USC is treating spring admits. I read before that many people felt excluded and now I understand. I feel like a stepchild. There's very little communication and nothing exciting about this process. My sister started her university in August and was bombarded with communication, welcome packages, and more. I'm over here twiddling my fingers, wondering how I'm starting a school in a month and have no idea what is going on... Please don't misunderstand me. I'm beyond grateful that I was accepted to this phenomenal school and how generous they're being with my financial aid package, but I feel a little left out. Especially when I compare my sisters experience leading up to school to mine. It's a stark difference. Back to the original topic. Does anyone know the latest I can expect to hear from my negligent step-parent, USC? Lol.
