I'm currently attending ASU as freshmen, I want to transfer to USC or UCLA next year, is it possible? If so what do I have to do to meet the requirement? Thanks.

Essays
Common app is good, wrote about being a quadruplet, how everyone thinks my sis and I are the same and finding my own identity through student council
SC essay I wrote about wanting to become an Urban Planner through influence of all the different cities I've lived in
Also mentioned my exchange program and interest in francophone culture for another essay!
Also there's about 8 people applying to SC in my senior class but I think 5 out of those 8 are international students, does that make a difference in my chances?
Sister (quadruplet) is applying to about the same schools I am, her GPA is higher but I test better. How will that influence our chances?
Let me know!!
also shoutout to anyone from school who recognizes who this is

SCA letters of rec?
I am applying to SCA (Cinema & Media Studies division). I want to send 3 letters of rec through my Common App and 2 through Slideroom. I know only SCA will read the Slideroom ones, but is that still too many letters of rec? I don't want to be a "thick kid with a thick file." Thanks for any input on this, I really appreciate the help.

What are my chances at USC?
Let me start by saying that my story is a bit different than some other people. I was taken out of the United States to an undeveloped country at a young age ( 8 years). As a result I missed a lot of my education ( middle school, high school). I came back to the US at the age of eighteen and since then I have been sustaining myself in this country without any help. As soon as I got here I got my GED and it was time for community college.
My GED scores aren't impressive since I was significantly disadvantaged. I have been working really hard in community college and I want to know if I actually have a chance at USC. However, since I do sustain myself, I haven't been able to stop working more than 40 hrs a week since age 18 (currently 25 years old). As a result I have little time and no EC's so I'm worried they won't even look at my application. Well here are my college courses:
Los Angeles Pierce college
Fall 2014:
Math 125 Intermediate algebra A
Econ 002 Principles of economics 2. A
Misic 111 Music appreciation. A
English 028 Intermediate writing and composition A
GPA: 4.0 Full time Deans Honor
Winter 2015:
English 101 College reading and comp. A
Spring 2015:
Env science 2 A
Chen 60 Intro to general chemistry A
Math 120 Geometry A
GPA: 4.0 Full time deans honor
Summer 2015:
English 102 college reading and comp. A
Fall 2015:
Comp sci 575 Comp science fundamentals. B
Precalculus A
Trigonometry A
GPA: 3.7 part time Deans Honor and President's Honor
Spring 2016:
History 11 History of US. A
Calculus 1. A
Egd trek Engineering graphics. A
GPA: 4.0 part time Deans honor and president's honor
Summer 2016:
Communication studies. A
Fall 2016: (currently in progress)
Calculus 2. A
Egd tek 210 Engineering graphics. A
Weight training. B
I'm sure I'll get a good gpa and part time deans honor and presidents honor.
Los Angeles valley college
Winter 2017: ( plan on taking)
Health 11. A
Political science 1. A
Spring 2017: (plan on taking)
Multi variable calculus. A
Calculus based physics. A
I will get good gpa and part time deans honor and presidents list
Summer 2017:(plan on taking)
Chem 101 general chemistry 101. A
I know you might be thinking he hasn't even taken them yet and he already put A. The thing is that so far these courses have not been challenging for me and I have eased through them (maybe cause it's community college). I must say that I haven't stopped working 40 hrs since age 18. Also my major is aerospace engineering. I must emphasize that I have a GED not because I'm a slacker but because opportunity was taken away from me. My overall gpa is 3.9. I know that I have been attending let time but that's because I need to have a life and a 40hr job, so that's my balance between college, a life, and work. Honest responses, do you think I have a chance at USC? No negative comments please not everyone is as priveleged as others. Please respect.
Sorry if this is bad written I'm currently in class. (Multitasking)

USC Trustee Scholarships
I was wondering if the USC merit scholarships are combined with need-based aid(merit + need-based), or if the merit scholarships simply replaced the need-based aid(merit instead of need-based). Thanks!

Could indicating National Merit Semifinalist status hurt my chances at USC admission?
I know USC gives a half tuition scholarship to NMFs who end up listing them as the top college choice, but with that in mind, could indicating NMSF status in my application hurt my admissions chances because they would be evaluating me with the recognition that they would have to give me scholarship money? I already have top SATs (so it's not like NMSF would demonstrate me being any better at testing or anything) but relatively uninspiring grades and a possibly iffy counselor rec, so I'm concerned that they might not consider me worthy enough to be worth awarding a major scholarship. On the other hand, them knowing they would be giving me money would probably make them think I'd be more likely to boost their yield rate so...
1) Would it be advisable to just not mention NMSF status (or even my PSAT score) and request that my counselor not bring it up in the rec letter, or would doing so ultimately be more likely to hurt than help my chances?
2) If USC is aware of my NMSF status, will it lessen my chances of being awarded one of their other scholarships (Presidential or Dean's) that wouldn't add any money to the NMF scholarship, given that they would assume I'd be getting the money from NMF anyway? (It's potentially possible that I might not even end up getting NMF due to some of the aforementioned app issues, particularly fallout from the rocky counselor relationship part, so I want to make sure to cover all bases. Additionally, getting a separate scholarship could potentially enable me to get a decision in Jan-Feb. which would actually be very helpful as it would allow me to pursue treatment of a recurring health concern, the results of which might help inform my college decision, in time to have the necessary results to take into account when choosing.)
3) Does USC deal with this situation all the time, and therefore have means to just look up the National Merit statuses of students with top SAT scores anyway? If so, would they potentially see not including the NMSF status as deceptive and therefore an integrity concern or something?

USC affordable??
Hello! I'm a Senior at San Gabriel High School, my current GPA 3.9 and it could go higher after I finish my first semester of Senior'a year. Also, I will retake the SAT on Dec 3 because my score on May was 1070/1600. The only thing I have concerned is the affordable to go to USC because my family is low-income family. I wonder if USC provides free tuition coverage for all 4 years or not? Thank you and have a nice day :).
↧
USC admission and merit scholarship chances?
I will be applying to Viterbi at USC by December 1st and was wondering what my chances of getting in would be. I have a 4.0 unweighted gpa with 8 ap classes in high school and a couple honors courses. I got a 1510 on the sat 780 math 730 reading. I do track, nhs, student council, action (volunteering club), and year round pole vault. My weakest area is probably leadership as the only position I hold is fundraising chair in student council. Although I am a leader in track I wasn't named a captain because I only do field events, but I could have my coach write an essay for me about pole vault if it would help.
I probably will need to get merit scholarships to go to USC because my parents can't afford the tuition, but wouldn't qualify for need based aid. What do you think my chances of making it in / getting a scholarship would be?

Senior applying to USC for Fal 2017!
Hello, I'm a senior from San Gabriel High School (kinda close to USC= 20-30 mins drive). I'm applying to USC for Fall 2017 and I'm considering for Business Administration or International Relations (Global Business) as a major, First of all, I like business in the fashion industry and I want to be a Fashion Director, recently I received a catalog from LIM College in NY, when I read through it and they wrote in order to become a Fashion Director, I need to have a Bachelor Of Business Administration (BBA) or Bachelor Of Professional Studies (BPS). I lived in CA right now and my top choice school is USC, they have Business Administration and International Relations (GB), I want to major in business but also want to learn another language(s) and go travel. How can I make my decision now?
P/s My weighted GPA from 9-12 is 3.9, first semester of 12 still in progress but I will strike A's for all. Also, SAT score is 1070/1600 and I will take another one in Dec 3. I will also finishing up my application with strong statements and recommendation letters from my 2 teachers (USC's alumni) and my counselor. Hopefully everything will go smooth :).

USC Admit and Scholarships
Because USC is so far (I am from NY) and would cost a lot of money to travel to, I would really need some sort of scholarship, that is if I even get in. Do you think acceptance is likely with a 32 ACT, 97UW, 99W (4.0) GPA? I also have various clubs and activities that I partake in and am first generation if that helps. Thanks!

USC SCA Slideroom - Letters of Recommendation
Hey all-
Quick question about the Letters of Recs on slideroom. I saw that on the application checklist, it said "any letters submitted via the Common Application may be used towards the three letters of recommendation required". So does this mean that if I already have 3 letters of recommendation on my USC common app, I don't need to do anything on Slideroom? Or should I contact those three same teachers again and ask them to submit the same letter to slideroom as well?
Thanks!

Music ensembles for non-music majors
I'm applying to USC and I plan to study math or physics. However, I also love playing music and want to continue in college. Do any current students or recent alumni know if there are ensembles available for non-music majors? I've checked the USC website and it doesn't explicitly say whether or not the ensembles are limited to music majors only.
